How to Make the World a Better Place by Downsizing and Recycling

Like many women in our community, I have spent quite a bit of time over the last decade reorganizing and, where possible, downsizing.

Along the way, I have learned that downsizing is not really about saying “no” to the things we don’t need. It is about saying “yes” to the things that really matter.

Today, I want to talk about one aspect of downsizing that you may not have thought about – how to recycle and do good for others as you reorganize your life.

Come join us for a cup of tea (or coffee) and a chat. And, if you enjoy the show, please tell one friend about us today. Your support means so much to me!

Here are today’s community questions.

Are you downsizing? What do you do with items that you no longer need? Do you give them to charity? Or, do you recycle them? Please join the conversation and tell one other woman about Sixty and Me today. The more the merrier!

A Small Programming Change for Mornings with Sixty and Me

Hi everyone! Good morning! I just need to give you a quick update regarding an important programming change that we are making for Mornings with Sixty and Me.

After talking with all of you, I have decided to make two changes to our program.

First, many women have told me that receiving a daily email is just too much. As a result, I have decided to record Mornings with Sixty and Me every other day.

Second, doing this will allow me to invite our entire community to join the conversation. This should give us even more opportunities to get to know each other.

Despite the fact that I will only be recording a video every other day, I will continue to post new content every morning. This means that we will always have new things to talk about.

I hope that you will continue to come back to the website every morning to talk with your Sixty and Me sisters. I will join the conversation in the comments every morning too.

Please watch this short video for all of the details. I hope that this change makes our community even stronger!

With gratitude,

Margaret

Why is Ageism the Last Acceptable Ism and What Can We Do About it?

As a society, we have made a lot of progress in recent decades against the most recognizable “isms” – sexism, racism, etc. Of course, we still have a long way to go, but, at the very least, people accept that these “isms” are unacceptable.

So, why is it that ageism is still acceptable? This is the topic that Dr. Bill Thomas and I discuss on today’s Sixty and Me Show.

I hope that you enjoy the conversation. If you do, please share it with a friend.

Let’s get a conversation started.

Why do you think that ageism is still acceptable? What do you think we can do to fight back against aging stereotypes and ageism? Please join the conversation.

These are just a few of the questions that society will have to answer as populations all over the world continue to age.

Today, I talk with Dr. Bill Thomas about how society’s view of aging will change in the coming decades. Enjoy the show!
